Sierra Leone continues to face significant youth development challenges. Many young people struggle with unemployment, poverty, substance abuse, school dropout, mental health issues, and social exclusion.
National crises such as the Ebola outbreak, the 2017 mudslide disaster, economic instability, and the COVID-19 pandemic further worsened living conditions for thousands of vulnerable families and youths.
Recognizing the urgent need for sustainable solutions, RDIY was established to provide opportunities for rehabilitation, skills development, entrepreneurship, food security, and community transformation.
Today, the organization continues to restore dignity, confidence, and hope among young people while helping communities create long-term pathways to development.
