Who We Are
Restoration & Development Initiative for Youth (RDIY) is a youth-focused community development organization based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Questions about this notice can be sent to rdiy.sl.org@gmail.com.
Information We Collect
Depending on the form you use, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, message, newsletter preference, donation amount, donation purpose, payment status, external transaction reference, and sender name.
The website also keeps short-lived, privacy-protected rate-limit records to reduce spam and abuse. Internet addresses are hashed with a private server secret before storage.
Why We Use It
- To respond to contact and partnership enquiries
- To record newsletter interest and consent
- To initiate, confirm, and acknowledge online donations
- To verify manually reported transfers against RDIY's receiving account
- To protect the website from spam, fraud, and misuse
- To maintain appropriate operational and accounting records
Payments
Online donations are completed on Monime's hosted checkout. RDIY receives transaction references and payment status information needed for reconciliation, but this website does not collect card numbers, CVVs, PINs, mobile-money secrets, passwords, or one-time codes. Direct bank transfers remain pending until staff verify them against RDIY's receiving account.
Service Providers
The website may use Vercel for hosting and server functions, Neon for database storage, Resend for email notifications, Monime for hosted payment processing, and Google Maps for the office map. These providers process limited information needed to deliver their services and operate under their own privacy and security terms.
Newsletter
Submitting the newsletter form records your request and consent. New subscriptions remain pending until confirmation delivery is available. We will not intentionally send campaigns to pending, unsubscribed, or suppressed addresses.
Retention And Access
RDIY will retain information only as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose collected, operational follow-up, security, accounting, and applicable legal requirements. Access is limited to authorized people responsible for website operations, communications, and donation reconciliation.
Your Choices
You may ask RDIY to correct or delete an ordinary enquiry, or withdraw from newsletter communications, by emailing rdiy.sl.org@gmail.com. Some donation or accounting records may need to be retained where required for legitimate organizational or legal purposes.
Important Safety Guidance
Do not submit passwords, authentication codes, medical records, card information, wallet PINs, or other highly sensitive information through a public website form. If you believe information was submitted in error, contact RDIY promptly.
Changes To This Notice
RDIY may update this notice as its services and legal obligations develop. The latest revision date will appear at the top of this page.
